This policy is part of the Terms of Service. It applies to everything you do with Tether: live control, Flows, schedules, AI steps, exports, webhooks and templates. Tether is built to automate phones and accounts you own or are authorised to use, for work like content operations on your own accounts, ad and listing checks, app testing and collecting data you are entitled to collect. It is not built for, and may not be used for, the things below.
1. Devices and accounts that are not yours
- Do not control, monitor or capture the screen of a phone without the owner's permission, or use Tether to track or watch a person.
- Do not sign in to or operate an account you do not hold or are not authorised by its holder to use.
- Do not install or run the agent on a computer you do not control.
2. Spam and mass messaging
- No unsolicited bulk messages, comments, replies, DMs, emails, SMS or calls.
- No sending messages to people who have not asked for them, or at a volume or pattern a platform treats as spam.
- Do not remove or bypass the approval step and rate caps on templates that post, reply, send or share.
3. Fake engagement and manipulation
- No fake or automated likes, follows, views, plays, subscribers, reviews, ratings, votes or comments.
- No coordinated inauthentic behaviour, astroturfing, or inflating reach or metrics.
- No engagement-for-engagement schemes or replies on other people's content at scale.
4. Account farming and detection evasion
- No creating, "warming up", nurturing, trading or renting accounts in bulk.
- No running many accounts to get around a platform's per-person limits, bans or enforcement.
- No spoofing device identifiers (such as IMEI, Android ID or advertising ID), faking GPS or SIM location, rotating fingerprints, or otherwise hiding automation from an app or platform. Tether does not provide these features and you may not add them through the Service.
- No using the Service to come back after a platform has banned you or your account.
5. Scraping and data collection
- Do not collect data in breach of any law, including data-protection, privacy, copyright, database, computer-misuse and anti-hacking laws.
- Do not collect data from an app or website in breach of its terms, or behind a login that is not yours or that you are not authorised to use for that purpose.
- Do not collect, profile or sell personal data about people without a lawful basis, and never sensitive data (such as health, biometrics, sexuality, religion, political views or children's data) without a lawful basis that specifically covers it.
- Do not use collected data to build lists for spam, stalking or harassment.
6. Security controls and CAPTCHAs
- No bypassing, solving or outsourcing CAPTCHAs or other human-verification challenges with automation. When a Flow meets one, Tether pauses it for a person.
- No bypassing login, payment, rate-limit, paywall, DRM or other access controls, and no exploiting vulnerabilities in apps or services.
- No attacks on Tether itself: no probing, overloading, sharing agent tokens, reselling access, or using the relay as a proxy for unrelated traffic.
7. Harmful, abusive or illegal content and conduct
- No harassment, bullying, threats, doxxing or stalking.
- No content or activity that is illegal where you are or where it is received, including child sexual abuse material (which we report to the authorities), terrorist content, non-consensual intimate imagery, fraud, scams, phishing, impersonation and infringement of intellectual property.
- No election manipulation or deceptive political messaging.
- No malware, and no using phones to distribute it.
- No using the Service to break financial, gambling, consumer-protection or telecommunications rules (for example automated in-app purchases, betting or bonus abuse).
8. AI steps
- Follow your AI provider's usage policies when you use Ask AI steps.
- Do not use AI steps to do anything this policy forbids, or to evade the Service's AI guardrails and budgets.
9. Templates
Templates in the gallery are reviewed. We reject or remove templates that do any of the above, including warm-up, random follow/like, mass commenting, mass DM, ban evasion and scraping behind someone else's login, and templates that post or send without an approval step.
10. Reporting and enforcement
Report abuse or a template to [email protected] or with the report button in the gallery. If we reasonably believe this policy is being broken, we may, depending on severity: warn you; pause Flows or schedules; unlist or block a template version across all organisations; disconnect phones or agents; suspend or terminate the account; and report illegal activity to the authorities. Our action is recorded in your organisation's audit log. Where it is safe and lawful we tell you what we did and why, and you can reply to contest it.
