Getting started
Getting started with Tether Studio
What Tether Studio does, what you need, and the four steps to your first run.
Tether Studio lets you watch and control a phone from your browser, record flows that tap, type and swipe for you, and turn what the screen shows into rows in a sheet.
What you need
- A phone you own. Android works today. iPhone support is an early preview that needs a Mac with Xcode (see iPhone setup).
- A computer the phone plugs into, running macOS, Windows or Linux. It runs the agent, a small program that talks to your phones over USB and to the studio over the internet. You install it with one command. Nothing is installed on an Android phone.
- A browser: Chrome, Edge or Safari. The live screen uses WebCodecs, which these support.
- A Tether Studio account. Sign in with a link we email you, or with a password if you've set one. Every new studio can start a 14-day Creator trial without a card.
The four steps
- Install the agent on the computer and pair it with your studio: Install the agent.
- Connect a phone: turn on USB debugging, plug it in and tap Allow: Connect an Android phone.
- Make your first flow from a template and run it: Your first flow.
- Look at the results under Runs (a screenshot and the screen text for every step) and Sheets (the rows it grabbed).
Where things are
- Phones: every phone, live or offline. Open one to watch and control it.
- Flows: the step-by-step recipes your phones follow.
- Runs: every run, step by step, with screenshots.
- Schedules: flows that run on their own.
- Sheets: the data your flows grab.
- Team and Settings: people, computers, AI and billing.
Stuck? Read Phone shows Offline, or contact support from the ? menu in the studio.
