Studio says Reconnecting
What the Reconnecting and Offline banners in the studio mean, and what to try.
The banner at the top of the studio is about your browser's connection to the studio, not the phone's.
What the banner means
- Reconnecting… (attempt n): your browser lost its live connection to the studio and keeps trying. It usually clears by itself within seconds. Click Retry now to try straight away.
- Offline: the device you're browsing on has no network. The studio reconnects when the network is back.
- Status unknown: you're not connected, so what you see may be out of date.
Runs and schedules don't need your browser. They keep going on the phone's computer while you reconnect.
If it doesn't clear
- Check your internet connection and reload the page.
- A VPN, proxy, company firewall or ad blocker can block the live connection (WebSockets). Try without it or on another network.
- Make sure you're still signed in: open another studio page; if it asks you to sign in, do that and come back.
- Try another browser: Chrome, Edge or Safari.
If phones go Offline too
That's the phones' computer, not your browser. Check that the computer is awake, that the agent's window is still open, and give it a minute if the agent is installing an update (it restarts itself between runs). To start it again: on a Mac or Linux ~/.tether/bin/tether-agent, on Windows & "$HOME\.tether\bin\tether-agent.exe". More in Phone shows Offline.
Still stuck?
In the studio, open the ? menu and choose Contact support, or email [email protected]. Tell us what you see, which browser, and when it started.
